Writers Choice - The Great Outdoors

Every time I walk out my backdoor I stop, and breathe in all of what’s around me. I smell the scent of freshly cut grass, or the sun trying to push some light through the clouds. I can hear the neighbors working in their yards frantically to get ready for summer. All around there are flies buzzing about, bees are enjoying the pollen, and weeds are trying to push their way through the moist grass. There is a dirty cement walk way leading to the small wooden shed. Surrounding the shed is cement blocks used for decorating purposes, and holding the door shut. Next is a small brown fence that borders the whole yard, yet it still leaves enough room to see the rest of the neighborhood. Every time I sit in the backyard; I get a sense of home, and a feeling of peace.
